Video is to get feedback on the sharpening. This is a slightly newer knife, which I am still learning on.
The knife is in CPM-S35VN steel. Older TR-3 models were made in 154CM. This particular TR-3 is a limited edition and I believe was a SHOT Show model for 2013. The standard model has smooth beadblasted titanium handles and different polishing on the blade. This particular model has textured and anodized titanium handles with a two-tone polished/stonewashed blade. It's a great knife, and I really have taken a liking to the TR-3 Integrity. I hope ProTech does more with titanium frame locks in the future!
The knife's factory edge was slightly convex. I went to a simple 18.5 degree angle using the EdgePro Apex's 220, 400, 600, and 1000 stones, and then the 2000 polishing tape briefly. I think the results are decent for the first go...they are a lot better than the factory edge. The factory edge had a tip on a much lower angle than the rest of the knife...I did not remove all of the metal and figure I would get feedback before setting a secondary bevel.
So any input/experience with the TR-3/EdgePro is welcomed! :)
